Byte Back

  • Mission Statement

Byte Back’s mission is to close the digital divide by providing under-resourced communities an equitable pathway into the digital economy. We achieve this through transformative digital advocacy, digital literacy, and tech certification training.

  • Project Abstract

First Time Technology (FTT) helps bridge the digital gap by providing refurbished computers to Byte Back graduates* and low-income individuals. We also provide computer repair and support services to DC residents and nonprofits. This work is an important component of our A+ Certification program as students serve as interns, giving them valuable hands-on experience in troubleshooting and computer repair.

  • Target Population

    Our target population include:
    The elderly
    Full-time students
    Byte Back graduates
Individuals that make below $2,000 a month in income or no income.
Individuals that receive EBT/SNAP, SSI disability, TANF, and unemployment.

Last fiscal year over 400 people received a computer from us.
