  • Project Abstract

    NCC’s Supported Employment program fills an ever growing void in the employment gap. As the need for skilled workers continues to be a focal point for current and future hiring and job creation, programs like Supported Employment provides opportunities to grow the employee pipeline and create better, more inclusive job opportunities for people with disabilities. Clients who find employment through NCC’s Supported Employment program will earn competitive wages and benefit from economic self-sufficiency and increased independence. They will be provided with opportunities to develop new skills, knowledge and interests and become valued, contributing members of their community. Adults with developmental disabilities want meaningful and fair employment opportunities but are faced with immense challenges when trying to enter the workforce. The overriding goal of NCC’s Supported Employment program is that adults with severe developmental disabilities will achieve and succeed in meaningful, competitive, paid employment.

  • Target Population

    Adults ages 18 – 69 who have an intellectual or developmental disability and reside in the Washington, DC region.

    Approximately 250 people will be served directly in year one through computer donations.
