The 2020 Meeting of the Alliance for Technology Refurbishing and Reuse (AFTRR) takes place in the amazing city of Portland, Oregon on April 5-7. The meeting is the single largest annual gathering of nonprofit technology refurbishers and recyclers, an impressive array of organizations working to close the digital divide. The AFTRR community is focused on bridging the digital divide by providing all four of the pillars that hold the bridge up; devices, connectivity, education, and technical support. AFTRR members also advocate for technology reuse, divert used technology away from landfills and into the hands of downstream recyclers, refurbish and provide computers to those in need at low or no cost, grant technology to other nonprofit organizations and help individuals in underserved communities reach their full potential.
The 2020 AFTRR meeting features both topical presentations and panel discussions, as well as the opportunity to meet, share, and learn from fellow members of the nonprofit refurbisher community. Unique for 2020, the AFTRR Meeting is being held in conjunction with Net Inclusion, the annual conference of the National Digital Inclusion Alliance (NDIA).

A perfectly Portland evening! Join us for this kickoff social event, bringing together AFTRR members from across the country, with food, drinks, and arcade games at Quarterworld, Portland’s retro arcade, bar, and eatery. Food, drink tickets, and arcade cards will be provided.

AFTRR Meeting, Day 1

Hosted by and held on-site at AFTRR member Free Geek, day one features an array of presentations, panel discussions, and workshops. Anticipated topics include data security, responsible recycling, system imaging, fundraising, corporate partnerships and community relations. Breaks, beverages and lunch will be provided.

Net Inclusion 2020
AFTRR members are encouraged to extend their Portland visit and attend Net Inclusion 2020, the National Digital Inclusion Alliance’s annual conference. Net Inclusion 2020 welcomes digital inclusion community practitioners, advocates, academics, internet service providers, and policymakers to discuss a wide range of issues around digital equity. Please note that there is a separate registration fee for Net Inclusion.
